Bremerhaven-Mitte is a district in the North borough of the municipality of Bremerhaven in the state of Bremen. Bordered by the Geeste River in the south and located directly at the mouth of the Weser River, the heart of Bremerhaven beats here. After the war, in the course of reconstruction, mainly office and commercial buildings were built in Bremerhaven-Mitte. Today Bremerhaven-Mitte is an important tourist attraction of the city with the Hafenwelten and Klimahaus as well as the Zoo am Meer. The district Mitte is a mixture of modernity and nostalgia, small town houses - remnants of times gone by - and ultra-modern architecture made of glass and stone, housing as well as offices, research institutes or culture. Mitte is very easy to reach via the A27 and B212 freeways. From the main train station in Geestemünde, Mitte is very well connected by public transport.
