Heidesee is located about 30 kilometers southeast of the city center of Berlin and ten kilometers east of the former county seat Königs Wusterhausen in a heath landscape with forests (mainly pine forests), lakes, rivers and canals. The districts enclose the Blossiner Heide. The community is situated between the Wolziger See, the river Dahme and the Oder-Spree canal at the southern edge of the Berlin Urstromtal. The landscape was formed by the Weichsee Ice Age (about 10,000 to 20,000 years ago).
The municipality of Heidesee stretches from the federal highway 12 and the border of the Dahme-Spreewald district in the north to the federal highway 246 in the south and from the federal highway 179 in the west to the border of the Dahme-Spreewald district in the east.
