    The Hemelingen district is located at the south-eastern end of Bremen and is made up of the districts of Hastedt, Sebaldsbrück, Arbergen and Mahndorf. Daimler, the largest private employer in Bremen with around 17,000 employees, is based here. The Hemelingen Tunnel was built around the plant to relieve traffic congestion and will provide a direct connection to the highway feeder roads once it is completed. Other well-known companies based in Hemelingen include Rheinmetall, Atlas Elektronik and Vitakraft. There are also numerous leisure facilities such as the Schlossparkbad, Lake Mahndorf and the streetcar museum in the district. There are good public transport connections via streetcar lines 2 & 10 and buses; Hemelingen is also located directly on the A1 and A27 highways for easy access by car.
