    In the heart of Upper Franconia, in the north of Bavaria, just a few kilometers from the county seat of Kulmbach is the village of Untersteinach. Approximately 1,800 inhabitants live here - and they live well here. Train and bus connections are above average, two federal highways (B 303 and 289) cross in front of the village and the network of bike paths provides connections in almost all directions.

    Untersteinach was once called the "Gateway to the Franconian Forest". It lies in a scenic location in front of the slopes of the "Oberland". The streams Steinach and Schorgast unite here to flow into the White Main only shortly after Untersteinach. The evangelic church St. Oswald determines the townscape then as now.

    The village is characterized by its historic, village center as well as various, gradually developed residential areas on the outskirts of the village. Finally, one lives here wonderfully rural and yet is faster in the center of Kulmbach than from many a district of Kulmbach itself.
    With the growing number of citizens, the membership of the clubs has also increased. Shooting, sports or even music club, there should be something for almost everyone!
    In the meantime, Untersteinach has not only become a popular place to live at the gates of Kulmbach, no, in addition to some craft businesses, some larger companies have also settled in the industrial area.
