The leased property is part of a housing estate with a total of 12 semi-detached houses, which were built in 2004 especially for the members of the NATO armed forces stationed in Germany. The permanent lease to the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA), was secured under land register law in section 2 by a so-called right of occupancy.
