The house is heated with an oil heating system from 1989 and, according to the energy requirement certificate, has a final energy requirement of approx. 290kWh/m²*a (primary energy requirement approx. 325kWh/m*a). This energy consumption is overstated insofar as the energy requirement certificate assumes that all heatable rooms are heated, whereas in practice experience has shown that living rooms are heated throughout and ancillary rooms (cellar, guest WC, etc.) are heated less or not at all. The windows in the rooms that are not used or are rarely used are mostly from the year of construction, while the windows in the living rooms have mostly been replaced with insulating glazing (in some cases as thermal insulation glazing). This means that the old windows play a far greater role in the theoretical calculation of the energy requirement than is the case with the actual consumption. In the past, the actual energy requirement amounted to a fraction (approx. 1/3 - 1/2) of the primary energy requirement determined according to the energy performance certificate and can still be reduced with a few measures. The consumption bills can of course be viewed.
