The building is said to have been built around 1760, before the great town fire. Located directly next to the district court, it was used by lawyers for many years. It got its name because Martin Kastendieck, President of the Senate of the Higher Regional Court of Celle, lived there until 1963. It was built as a representative merchant's house by the Roseneck and Drell families, a so-called eaves-standing two-storey single building in half-timbered construction. In terms of its design, construction techniques and functional layout, it is the ideal example of a stately town house in the 18th century. A house with a history in Walsrode, which the town wants to preserve in its external appearance.
