Location description

Peißenberg is located in the heart of the Weilheim-Schongau district on the most important east-west connection in southern Bavaria, the B472 federal highway. A bypass was opened to traffic over ten years ago. A network of hiking and cycling trails through the mixed forests around Peißenberg and up the Hoher Peißenberg, along the wild and romantic Ammer to the Ammer breakthrough and the sandstone caves in the Schnalz and on to Peiting or the landscape conservation area of the Eibenwald forest near Paterzell is available to "leisure activists".
