Gladbeck is situated in the north of the Ruhr Valley and is also part of the so-called Emscher region, around the river of the same name. It borders Bottrop, Dorsten and Gelsenkirchen, and to the south, Essen. The A2 motorway is just a short drive away, providing links to the A31, A3 and A43, as is the A52, providing a link to the Marl chemical park. Several parks are all within easy reach of the apartment: the Stadtwald, the Nordpark, with its lake, and the Wittringen moated castle. The Zweckel power station is about eight minutes’ drive away, with the Scholven power station in neighbouring Gelsenkirchen being around ten minutes’ drive away.
