Located on Neumarkt, the Städtische Kaufhaus is one of the oldest trade fair buildings in the world and looks back on an impressive history. Originally built in the 15th century as a Gewandhaus, the building was expanded with a concert hall in the 18th century. Renowned composers such as Mozart, Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Liszt performed here and left a lasting mark on the building's cultural significance.
To this day, the striking building with its neo-baroque facade is one of Leipzig's architectural landmarks. Severely damaged in the Second World War, the ensemble was rebuilt in the 1950s and extensively renovated around the turn of the millennium.
As part of this renovation, modern, high-quality commercial spaces were created for office, retail and leisure uses. Combined with its historic ambiance, the Städtische Kaufhaus today offers an exceptional and prestigious location for companies with a demand for individuality and atmosphere.
