The above-mentioned area belongs to the municipality of Felde and is located between the smaller villages of Brandsbek and Klein Nordsee on the L48. The Eider River, which connects the Kiel Canal with Lake Westensee, runs adjacent to it. The railway station and railway line are separated from the area only by a few smaller parcels of land. The area consists of arable land, grassland, a ditch, and a path leading to a small settlement with three houses. This path can be used as access to the area. The land is currently leased to a business owner in the neighboring village. The municipality of Felde, currently with approximately 2,200 inhabitants, is classified as a “Rural Central Place” in the central-place system of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Thanks to its very good transport connections, the state capital Kiel can be reached by car via the BAB A210 in approximately 10 minutes. The journey to Rendsburg takes approximately 20 minutes, as does the journey to Nortorf via the L48 state road. Trains on the Kiel–Rendsburg–Schleswig/Husum railway line run in both directions every half hour. There are also bus connections to Kiel, Rendsburg, Nortorf, and Itzehoe. Local basic services are provided by several retail shops, financial institutions, and service companies. A petrol station is located in the Klein Nordsee district. Medical care is provided by several doctors from various specialties. There is also a pharmacy, a kindergarten, and a primary school. The scenic location on Lake Westensee and the Eider, as well as the direct access to Westensee Nature Park, offer excellent local recreational opportunities. Not least because of the rare combination of proximity to a major city, good infrastructure, and excellent leisure and recreational opportunities, Felde is one of the most popular residential locations in the Kiel area.
