Margarethenhöhe
Margarethenhöhe, originally a foundation established by the Krupp family, is located about four kilometers southwest of the city center and was built between 1906 and 1938 for senior Krupp employees. After the Second World War, it was restored in its historic form. The marketplace with the "Schatzgräberbrunnen" fountain is worth a visit. The district is surrounded by greenery. Pretty single-family terraced houses can be found on the outskirts, especially along the "Nachtigallental" to the west. The U 17 underground line reaches Essen city center in just a few minutes.
