The Städtisches Kaufhaus, located on Neumarkt, is one of the oldest trade fair buildings in the world and has an impressive history. Originally built as a cloth hall in the 15th century, the building was extended to include a concert hall in the 18th century. Important composers such as Mozart, Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Liszt performed here, leaving a lasting mark on the building’s cultural significance.
To this day, the striking building with its neo-Baroque façade is one of Leipzig’s architectural landmarks. Severely damaged during the Second World War, the complex was rebuilt in the 1950s and comprehensively renovated around the turn of the millennium.
As part of this renovation, modern, high-quality commercial spaces for offices, retail and leisure uses were created. Combining a historic ambience with contemporary facilities, the Städtisches Kaufhaus today offers an exceptional and prestigious location for companies seeking individuality and atmosphere.
The ground-floor space comprises approx. 135 m², and the mezzanine space approx. 115 m².
