Short walk to the train station, the S-Bahn runs in the direction of Essen and Wuppertal. Furthermore, there are several bus connections.
The Velbert district of Langenberg lies at the confluence of the Hardenberger Bach, which comes from Neviges in the south, and the Deilbach, which comes from the southeast and continues to flow into the Ruhr via Nierenhof and Essen-Kupferdreh. In earlier times, the Deilbach formed the border in Langenberg between the Prussian County of Mark and the Duchy of Berg, now Rhineland and Westphalia. Langenberg has three churches. The "Old Church" in the center of town, the Protestant parish church, was built in 1726 in the style of Berg churches and has a carved pulpit in the sound cover from 1731.
