When we decided on the name Nature Views and the colours pink and green, we had the impressive view of the Laguna Salada amid extensive citrus groves in mind. The magnificent view is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding assets of this residential complex. The interiors of the sunny homes with their white façades are flooded with daylight and display clear influences of the purest Mediterranean style. However, great importance was attached not only to those elements that catch the eye at first glance, but also to the building materials used and the overall workmanship. The coastal town of Torrevieja, located in the south of the Costa Blanca, has been one of the most important holiday resorts in the entire country for decades and is also highly valued by sun-hungry foreign visitors as one of the most popular tourist destinations for beach holidays. However, the town has much more to offer besides. In the mid-19th century, Federico Linares, who was born in Orihuela, decided to have a large villa built at the southern boundary of the municipal area in the style of the period, to be used as a place of peace and relaxation amid the vegetable gardens and citrus groves. Even the press of the time praised this building for its beauty, and reports were published about the lavish parties held in this villa, attended by the most prestigious figures of the contemporary upper People were invited to the society. However, it was above all an architectural feature that later helped the villa gain widespread fame: the numerous balconies adorning its façade. The building soon became known as “Villa Balcones,” and this name ultimately, though originally unintentionally, became the designation for the entire locality. Today, Los Balcones is undoubtedly one of the province of Alicante’s most traditional residential areas for holiday homes and second residences.
