Buchholz is a district of Dortmund. It forms Subdistrict 552 in the Statistical District of Syburg, Hörde borough. Until the end of 1974, Buchholz belonged to the municipality of Westhofen. From the time districts were established in the Province of Westphalia, this belonged to the Dortmund District. On April 1, 1887, it was transferred to the newly established Hörde District.
