The thermal spa town of Bad Bevensen is located in the eastern Lüneburg Heath. Bad Bevensen is an idyllic spa town with numerous boutiques and cafés as well as excellent medical care in various specialist and rehabilitation clinics. The main attractions are the beautifully landscaped, expansive spa park and the famous iodine-brine thermal baths with their large outdoor pools and the newly designed sauna area. Shopping facilities as well as bakeries, a pharmacy, doctors and banks are located within walking distance in the town. There is also an elementary school, a secondary school, a kindergarten and a nursery there.
The wonderful surroundings are also ideal for activities of all kinds, such as hiking, cycling, canoe tours on the Ilmenau, horseback riding, tennis or golf at the nearby 18-hole Bad Bevensen golf course. The iodine-brine thermal baths are widely known and attract people seeking relaxation from far and wide. Good medical care, for example through the Diana-Klink Heart and Vascular Center in the town.
The spa center offers a varied, changing program ranging from concerts and readings to afternoon dance events, Qi Gong, yoga and much more. During the season from May to October, most shops are also open on Sundays, and antique and flea markets as well as jazz concerts take place in the town center.
