The community of Schliersee is located in the district of Miesbach, between Hausham and Fischbachau. There is a kindergarten in the center of Schliersee, another one in Neuhaus, which has just been expanded. The Schliersee elementary and middle school is also located in the Neuhaus district. The grammar school in Miesbach can be reached by train and the grammar school in Tegernsee and the secondary school in Gmund can be reached by bus. There is a train station (BRB) in Schliersee and in Neuhaus with connections to Munich and Bayrischzell. In addition, there are numerous doctors and pharmacies in the center of Schliersee and Neuhaus. Restaurants, bakers and cafés as well as various shopping facilities are also located in the village. A full-range store will soon open in Neuhaus.
The district of Miesbach offers year-round sports and leisure opportunities right on the doorstep. For example, the Spitzingsee and Sudelfeld ski resorts in the immediate vicinity are easily accessible by car and bus.
