The Schwerin Reichsbahndirektion was initially founded in 1889 as the Grand Ducal General Railway Directorate and was the highest administrative authority of the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Friedrich Franz Railway. After the November Revolution, it was renamed the Railway Directorate of the state railway. A comprehensively renovated development with office, commercial and residential units, as well as green spaces and a park, is now being created on this site.
