Location details

Dohna is the second-oldest town in the Free State of Saxony. It is located in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge and is the seat of the Dohna-Müglitztal administrative community. The town of Dohna lies about 15 km southeast of Dresden and south of Heidenau, at the entrance to the Müglitz Valley and gateway to the Eastern Ore Mountains.
Dohna’s economy today is shaped by small and medium-sized businesses, local craftspeople and service providers, as well as agriculture, fruit growing and horticulture.
Dohna can be reached via the S 178 from Heidenau.
The A 17 runs directly past Dohna. The Pirna exit is right at the entrance to the town, between the districts of Köttewitz and Krebs.
Regional transport is provided by bus connections to Heidenau, Pirna and Altenberg, as well as the Dresden city bus route to Borthen and Röhrsdorf, and by the Müglitz Valley Railway from Heidenau to Altenberg.
