Rodewisch is located in the Saxon Vogtlandkreis district, in the valley of the Göltzsch and Wernesbach rivers, at an elevation of approximately 400 to 650 m. The town lies on the eastern edge of the Vogtland and in the immediate vicinity of the western Ore Mountains.
The landscape is characterized by an attractive upland region:
* the ridges of the Western Ore Mountains adjoin to the south and east,
* to the west, the landscape transitions into typical Vogtland hill country,
* the Göltzsch valley opens to the north.
Rodewisch includes the districts of Röthenbach and Rützengrün and borders, among others, Auerbach, Lengenfeld and Treuen. The town is located approximately 20 km east of Plauen and around 23 km from Zwickau. (
