Otto Hofmann worked as an architect in Heppenheim at the beginning of the 20th century. He planned residential and villa buildings and played an important role in the implementation of the workers’ settlement in Briefelstraße.

The current Metzendorf walking tour of the town of Heppenheim describes that the workers’ settlement initially arose according to ideas by Georg Metzendorf and was continued or completed from 1909 by the locally based architect Otto Hofmann.
