The town of Gransee with its well-preserved historic town center - founded in 1262 - is nestled in the Fürstenberg lake district and close to Lake Stechlin. The Guest House of the Federal Republic of Germany also belongs to the municipality of Gransee. The medieval town is located in the northern Berlin commuter belt on the B 96 and is therefore easily accessible. You can reach Berlin Central Station (65 km) in 1 hour by car or take the excellent hourly train service to Berlin Central Station in 40 minutes.
The infrastructure is excellent. Kindergarten, primary and secondary schools are within walking distance. All shopping facilities, banks, petrol stations etc. are also within walking distance. Various doctors, specialists and Oberhavel Klinik Gransee are located in the village.
The town of Gransee is located 65 kilometers north of the center of Berlin and has been part of the Oberhavel district since 1993. Gransee received a rail connection at the end of the 19th century with the construction of the Nordbahn. The town is conveniently located. Federal highway 96 runs through Gransee and it is a stop for regional trains on the Berlin-Stralsund railroad line.
