Oberbilk, where one always feels more drawn to the city center than to Bilk, is undergoing major structural change. The historic center of the district, Oberbilker Markt, has changed its appearance enormously. Old industrial facilities that once characterized the typical Wilhelminian-era and working-class neighborhoods here have disappeared.
