Höchsten is a sought-after, affluent residential area in Dortmund's south. It gets its name ('the highest') from its location. It is one of the highest points of Dortmund, and is surrounded by the Benninghofen, Wellinghofen and Aplerbeck areas of the city, the neighbouring towns Schwerte and Herdecke and large areas of greenery. Motorway links provided by the A1 and A45, both of which are around 3km away. Dortmund city centre is around 25 minutes away by bus and underground rail.
