Become a resident at the Old Manor of Baron von dem Knesebeck in Karwe, which Theodor Fontane already described enthusiastically in his "Walks through the March of Brandenburg". Enjoy the view of Lake Ruppin from the terrace or balcony; just 30m away, it invites you to swim, or set off directly from the terrace for a walk in the extensive manor park. The village of Karwe is picturesquely situated on the eastern shore of Lake Ruppin. The village has an inn with a beer garden; in the surrounding villages you will find cafés, kindergartens, doctors, physiotherapy services and numerous cultural offerings. There is a grocery store in the neighboring village of Wustrau. The district town of Neuruppin is approximately 10 km away. There you will find a very extensive range of shopping opportunities, doctors, cultural venues, schools and the Ruppin-Brandenburg University Hospital. A local bus running hourly takes you to the town in 20 minutes. The bus stop is directly at the manor. From Neuruppin, there is an hourly regional connection (RE6) to Berlin, taking approximately 70 minutes. Every two hours, the RE also stops in Wustrau/Radensleben, 3.5 km from the manor. You can also reach Berlin city center in approximately 1 hour via the motorway (A24). Karwe is nestled in an exceptionally attractive landscape rich in forests and lakes, with countless excursion opportunities, e.g. Rheinsberg (concerts, theater, Easter and summer festivals), Lindow, Müritz and the Feldberg Lake District, to name just a few. The Wustrau Lake Festival takes place every summer. The active village community offers various festivals: Easter bonfires, summer festivals, children’s festivals and the popular Christmas market, held directly at the historic manor. At 14km, Lake Ruppin is the longest lake in Brandenburg and is an inland waterway running south with navigable access to the Havel (Berlin/Potsdam), and north to Lindow.
