    This extremely varied district of Bochum begins one kilometre south-west of the city centre. To the north can be found the Rombacher Hütte business park, and to the south there are residential areas of good to excellent quality. Bochum’s Weitmar district is also home to the Springorum Innovation Park, which comprises service providers and educational and research centres. The districts of Neuling and Mark, situated around the Schlosspark, are very sparsely developed and mainly feature detached houses. Finally, the village of Sundern is in a world of its own.
