Note:
Over the past decade, comprehensive urban redevelopment began in Böblingen’s lower town. Several major projects aimed at dismantling outdated urban structures are in progress. In 2013, Böblingen’s municipal council designated the “Mühlbachstraße” area as a redevelopment zone. Subsequently, the redevelopment objectives were specified.
Based on an already decided implementation competition, BBG is planning the new Mühlbachquartier on highly attractive inner-city areas. Following the demolition of the current shopping center, a mix of housing, large-scale retail space, offices, and a spacious daycare center is to be developed there. Approximately 23,100 m² of gross floor area are to be created above ground on the approximately 9,400 m² site. Anchor tenants are currently being negotiated for both the retail and office spaces. The site is characterized by diverse open spaces and green areas.
