The apartment is located in Altenau, a district of the Lower Saxony town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld, which belongs to the Goslar district. The town located northwest of the Harz has around 16,000 inhabitants. The town comprises a total of 17 districts, including Schulenburg im Oberharz, Wildeman or Altenau-Schulenberg im Oberharz.
