The starting point is the Ettenhausen district of Schleching.
From the hiking car park at the former valley station of the Geigelstein cable car, a well-developed forest road leads to the alpine pasture. The ascent takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours on foot.
Schleching is well connected via the B307 – accessible via the A8 (Bernau exit), then via Grassau and Marquartstein.
