History meets modernity:
The building ensemble dates from 1793 and was considered a gem of Bavarian Baroque. The year of construction of this listed building is carved into the well-preserved entrance door. The north-side extension was built around 1976. The former castle restaurant, together with the two associated residential and commercial buildings, is located directly opposite Weyhern Castle.
In 2006, the 400-year history of the castle restaurant came to an end. The building threatened to fall into disrepair.
In 2012, a private buyer was found who had the property redesignated as a residential building and, with the greatest personal and technical effort, as well as corresponding creativity, transformed it into a dream residential estate in accordance with strict heritage-protection requirements.
The construction:
It is a solid masonry building with a carpenter-style roof structure and plain-tile roofing. The partially basemented building stands on a completely insulated plinth running all around and has two full floors as well as a double-storey roof structure.
Features / Use:
The property comprises three masonry buildings as well as several wooden extensions.
The main building alone measures approx. 23 m x 13.5 m. The historic restored entrance door has been preserved, but is not used as an entrance. Behind it is the long hallway with access to the rooms and bathrooms. The historic doors have been tastefully restored, as has the interior wooden staircase to the upper floor. The former dining room was converted into a living area with a masonry wood-burning stove; the bar, kitchen and storage rooms were converted into a dining area, utility room and an open modern fitted kitchen with cooking island and all electrical appliances. The former guest toilets were converted into spacious, attractive bathrooms. The covered main entrance is now located on the east side, with hallway and cloakroom.
The upper floor was designed as a completely independent residential unit, accessible both via the interior staircase and from outside via a wooden staircase with a separate entrance. Here too, you will find high-quality, tasteful design and furnishings. The "huge" living area with open-plan kitchen, as well as 5-6 rooms, utility room and 2 bathrooms, offer space for a large family.
The immense roof structure has not been converted, but offers plenty of space as usable area. As part of the renovation, it was completely restored and newly roofed.
The former beer garden on the west side was converted into a wonderful multi-level stone terrace. Most of the former bowling alley has been preserved and now serves as an extremely cozy garden house and storage space for equipment.
The large outbuilding, the remise, offers generously sized, versatile utility and storage areas, garages, a workshop and the former horse stable; in the gable, a continuous threshing floor. An ideal arrangement for, for example, craft businesses requiring large indoor storage areas and/or for keeping (large) animals.
A second small outbuilding, the former innkeeper’s residence, has been lovingly renovated and designed and can be used as its own small residential unit, with a living room, an internal wooden staircase leading to the divided attic gable for a bedroom and children’s room, a small bathroom and kitchen.
All of this is surrounded by an approximately 7000 m² “park”. This allows for keeping animals/horses on one’s own pasture, as well as numerous car parking spaces.
The main building is fenced in. (“escape-proof”—perfect for, e.g., keeping dogs); the additional areas are enclosed/fenced with pasture fencing.
Due to the owners’ change in direction, the entire property is being sold to a new enthusiast, ready for occupancy by arrangement. Partly furnished if desired. Kitchens included.
It is easy to see that this property is unique in terms of its location, character and features, and is looking for a new owner who appreciates this standard.
It is equally suitable as a family home, a multigenerational property or a work-life retreat.
The quality of the renovation and building materials used, the high-quality features and furnishings correspond to a high building standard and the high personal standards of the current residents as a result of the complete renovation and modernization.
If you are seriously interested, we cordially invite you to view this unique property. The property is offered exclusively and commission-free for buyers on behalf of the seller by Hans-Jürgen Steg (certified expert for real estate valuation, ZIS Sprengnetter Zert (S), web: steg-projekte.de). No buyer’s commission is payable!

Located directly opposite the completely renovated and restored Weyhern Palace is this property, the former historic palace inn dating from 1793. By car, it is only approx. 7 min. to the A8 motorway in Odelzhausen, where most everyday amenities can be found, as well as in the surrounding municipalities of Egenhofen, Mammendorf, Maisach and Fürstenfeldbruck.
It can also be conveniently reached by public transport via bus 871 (directly outside the front door) to the S-Bahn in Maisach.
The recreational opportunities leave hardly anything to be desired! In addition to the surrounding meadows and forests, with endless cycling, riding and hiking possibilities, two golf facilities and numerous sports clubs with modern sports facilities invite you to enjoy all kinds of leisure activities. The leisure offering is rounded off by many attractive restaurants of various styles, “cozy” beer gardens and the numerous cultural events in the municipalities and the cultural center around Fürstenfeld Palace.
