The Warbel River flows around the town of Gnoien, encircling it on three sides. The surrounding area of Gnoien also offers a beautiful natural landscape, meadows, fields and forests, with cycling and hiking trails for a wide range of leisure activities.
Walkendorf is conveniently located between the small towns of Gnoien and Tessin; Rostock is approx. 35 km away and Teterow approx. 25 km. The Tessin and Bad Sülze junctions of the Baltic Sea A 20 motorway running to the north can each be reached after approx. 11 km. The nearest railway stations are in Teterow, Tessin and Demmin.
Gnoien itself has amenities including doctors, a pharmacy, restaurants, a savings bank and a bank, as well as childcare facilities, a primary school and a regional school.
