Klintum, with around 700 inhabitants, is located on the edge of the Langenberg Forest between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea and offers many opportunities to enjoy a peaceful vacation and life with its cycling, riding and hiking trails. The Langenberger Forst hiking and recreation area with the historic Ochsenweg trail is practically on the doorstep. The unique nature and signposted hiking trails in the approx. 1,000-hectare Langenberg Forest invite you to enjoy sporting activities, a relaxing walk or a moment of inner contemplation. The southern and eastern border is characterized by the Soholmer Au, where anglers as well as canoeists have the opportunity to spend their vacations.
Klintum belongs to the municipality of Leck in the district of Nordfriesland. The beautiful country house is located in an absolutely quiet residential area of Klintum. All daily necessities such as supermarkets (Aldi, Edeka, Lidl, Famila, stores etc.) are available in Leck, in the neighboring municipality of Langenhorn or in the municipality of Risum-Lindholm (only a few minutes by car from the house). The Netto supermarket in Risum-Lindholm is even open until 22:00. There is also a large medical center in Leck, as well as dentists and a clinic in Niebüll (Klinikum Nordfriesland approx. 10-15 minutes by car).
Hardly any other region in Germany is as characterized by the fascinating interplay of clouds, waves and wind as North Friesland. This is one of the reasons why the district is one of the most popular vacation regions in Germany. Whether on the sophisticated island of Sylt, which is popular with German and international celebrities, on the more unspoilt neighboring islands of Föhr, Amrum and Pellworm or on the tranquil Halligen islands - you can spend a dream vacation in North Friesland in many places, and not just in the warm summer months.
The North Frisian marshes are home to numerous rare animal and plant species, which is why almost 10% of the district is now a nature reserve. Part of the globally unique Wadden Sea is also part of the district.
Golf enthusiasts will find an exemplary 18-hole golf course a short distance away in scenic surroundings on the edge of the Langenberg Forest. Other golf courses on the mainland are located in Husum, Flensburg and in Denmark, relatively close to the border.
The high recreational value of the region is also due to its extremely convenient location to the North Sea coast, to the islands and Halligen in the North Frisian Wadden Sea National Park and to Denmark. Flensburg, the maritime city, awaits you. A view over the Flensburg Fjord is simply fantastic. The skyline of Flensburg and the numerous white sailing boats cruising before the wind give the viewer a maritime flair. Flensburg is a wonderful place for shopping and strolling or you can sit down in one of the many street cafés or restaurants by the water.
The nearby Danish towns of Tønder on the west coast, Sonderburg on the east coast and the island of Rømø with one of the longest sandy beaches in Europe are also well worth a visit. But even the city of Hamburg can be reached at any time of day thanks to excellent rail connections (Langenhorn station). Experience the advantages of living in one of Germany's most beautiful regions. The landscape that the great German expressionist Emil Nolde preserved like no other in his artistic work with its roughness, loveliness and colorfulness. Visit the Nolde Museum with the Nolde Café. There is also a large cultural program and concerts in the Charlottenhof in Klanxbüll.
Take the train from Langenhorn station to the island of Sylt in around 35 minutes and back to the mainland in the evening. Alternatively, you can take the Sylt ferry from Rømø to Sylt.
