Mühltal is a municipality on the edge of the Vorderer Odenwald, southeast of Darmstadt in the southern Hesse district of Darmstadt-Dieburg. The district of Traisa is located approximately 10 kilometres south of Darmstadt in a very idyllic setting, surrounded by green meadows and forests. It has good infrastructure with excellent connections to the transport networks throughout the Rhine-Main region. There is a rail connection directly to Frankfurt or the Odenwald region. Darmstadt is only a few minutes away by car, bicycle or public transport. Good shopping facilities and medical care are available locally. Two kindergartens and a primary school are located directly in the village. Secondary schools are located in Nieder-Ramstadt, Ober-Ramstadt or Darmstadt.

Traisa is known beyond the region for its golf club and the “3sathlon” event. An outdoor swimming pool, large clubs, a natural cemetery, the listed Dippelshof estate and much more have contributed to the area’s strong influx of residents. Several restaurants impress with varied menus.

The municipality is within a manageable distance of the A5 motorway, which provides quick connections to other cities and regions. The nearest Darmstadt-Eberstadt exit can be reached in fifteen minutes.

Traisa has very good public transport connections. There are regular bus services connecting Traisa with the surrounding towns and municipalities. A bus stop to Darmstadt or the Odenwald can be reached within 5 minutes on foot. The nearest railway station is the station in the Nieder-Ramstadt district, Mühltal-Bahnhof (within 15 minutes on foot), from which regular train services run to the surrounding cities and provide a direct connection to Frankfurt am Main Central Station. Thus, despite its location in a green setting, Traisa offers very good transport connections both by car and public transport.
